Accesible TourismThe objective of the present call for proposals is to support eligible
countries’ National Administrations in charge of tourism, or other
eligible public bodies for the purpose of the selection of one EDEN
destination of excellence. Deadline 30/04/2012 The following aspects of accessibility could be considered (a non-exhaustive list):
- barrier-free destinations (infrastructure and facilities);
- transport (by air, land and sea, suitable for all users);
- high quality services (delivered by trained staff);
activities, exhibits, attractions (allowing participation in tourism by everyone);
-marketing, booking systems, web sites & services (information accessible to all).
European Creative District This call for proposals shall support two large-scale demonstrators, “European Creative Districts” that aim at demonstrating the transformative power of creative industries for the rejuvenation of traditional industrial regions. The call for proposals will be implemented through a two-stage procedure: In a first stage, applicants are requested to submit a "concept note" of maximum five pages and then, in a second stage upon selection, a full proposal aimed at launching a “European Creative District” to be co-funded by the European Commission. Following the evaluation of the “concept notes”, a maximum of five applicants will be invited to prepare full and detailed proposals. A maximum of two proposals will be awarded a grant.Deadline 04/05/2012
Erasmus This call for proposals aims to help new entrepreneurs in Europe to enrich their experiences and to learn and network with experienced entrepreneurs. New entrepreneurs will spend some time in enterprises run by experienced entrepreneurs in other EU Member States and in other countries participating in the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme. Deadline 31/05/2012

EUROSTAT February 2012 Euro area unemployment rate at 10.8% EU27 at 10.2%. Eurostat estimates that 24.550 million men and women in the EU27, of whom 17.134 million were in the euro area, were unemployed in February 2012. Compared with January 2012, the number of persons unemployed increased by 167 000 in the EU27 and by 162 000 in the euro area.
Compared with February 2011, unemployment rose by 1.874 million in the EU27 and by 1.476 million in the euro area.

El proyecto de presupuesto de la UE para 2013, presentado hoy por la Comisión Europea, refleja las declaraciones del Consejo que indican que el crecimiento y el empleo en la UE solo pueden conseguirse conjugando la consolidación presupuestaria y la inversión en crecimiento futuro.
Se dedican 62 500 millones EUR en pagos al crecimiento creador de empleo
en Europa. Se ha hecho un esfuerzo especial de cara a los Programas
marco de investigación (9 000 millones, un 28,1 % de aumento en 2012),
al Programa para la innovación y la competitividad (546,4 millones EUR,
un aumento del 47,8 %), a los Fondos Estructurales y de Cohesión (49 000
millones EUR, un aumento del 11,7 %), y al aprendizaje permanente
(1 200 millones EUR, un aumento del 15,8 %).
