Economist Visitors Programme The purpose of this Call is to attract leading economists in academia, international organisations, governments and top research institutions to participate in the Economist Visitors Programme of DG Enterprise and Industry.
Economist Visitors are invited for a short-term visit to present and discuss research work and share their knowledge in the area of microeconomics and quantitative methods, namely in the areas of industrial policy and economic reforms.

The list of potential economist visitors will be valid for 3 years from the date of publication of this notice. Any interested candidate may submit an application at any time up to 3 months before the end of its period of validity.

COSME Transfer of business. The main objective of this call is to improve the environment for business transfers in Europe. Projects to be supported under this call shall focus on one of the following priority areas:
a) Creating trans-European models/training modules for advisors in business transfer to support the development/improvement of their skills and methods in addressing different issues that arise during the transfer process (including the psychological and emotional aspects of transfers), and adapting them to different national contexts;
b) Developing standards related to buyer-seller platforms to ensure the quality of the services provided by the platform;
c) Proposing a model of an efficient awareness-raising programme for better planning and preparation of business transfers;
d) Proposing measures to improve and harmonise data collection methods on transfer of business across Europe. Maximun contribution by projetc: 250.000€. Deadline March 25-2014.

Migrants in Education- Eurostat-2013 What factors are important? : a study of European countries. This report on migrant students overall mathematical ability is part of a larger project on migrants’ achievements in education. Within the same project a parallel report focuses on what matters for migrant students’ overall reading ability makes use of the IEA study PIRLS2006.

Quality of Life in cities-European Commission-2013 Perception survey in 79 European cities. This Flash Eurobarometer, “Quality of life in European cities” (No 366), was conducted at the request of the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy to get a snapshot of people’s opinions on a range of urban issues. Earlier surveys were conducted in 2004, 2006 and 2009.


Supporting reform- The role of Erasmus in higher education.

Erasmus, the European Union’s flagship mobility and cooperation programme in the field of education and training, was established in 1987. Its objective is to enhance the quality of higher education and strengthen its European dimension, in particular by increasing student and staff mobility.






EaSI New EU umbrella programme for employment and social policy EaSI, the new pan-European programme for employment and social policy, will help the EU deliver more coherent policy, encourage job mobility and provide targeted microfinance to the more vulnerable. Merging PROGRESS, EURES and PROGRESS Microfinance into one umbrella programme, EaSI will help deliver new jobs and sustainable growth more efficiently by putting the emphasis on social innovation.
